Day two...We woke up bright and early at 7am BKK time... in my room, Denise was the piggiest of them all... she did not wake up when the alarm rang! After Char and i washed up, we woke her from her dreams... den we went to the hotel restuarant for our breakfast that was complimentary.... they had cereals, porridge and ABF... i ate 3 course meal for breakfast.. haha... den at 9am Bkk time, we went to the hotel lobby to look for the tour guide for our tour of the Grand palace... we took a mini bus to the grand palace and on the way we saw the local citizens preparing for the Songkran festival!! they were all geared up to pour water and spread their "mud"!!
we reached the Grand Palace shortly after... and the tour guide told us to purchase our ticket at the ticket counter... den we realized we got cheated coz we tot the 250baht we paid upfront at the airport included the ticket fee but in fact it did not!! so we had to pay an additional 250baht!! his stupid PRO-MO-tion... haha... at the road opposite the Grand Palace, i saw many of the Thai residents armed with water guns and mud to splatter us with... i wanted to take a picture but my frenz say ltr they pour water on my camera so i didn't... here's the picture of us before we went in...
boy it was HOT!!! here are more pictues of us in the temple!!
after we left the temple, the tour guide "forced" us to go to the Chao Praya River... there were more people pouring water and they aimed at us when we weren't looking.. they also conned us to buy the flower necklace! 20baht!! they juz wore it on me! i did not even noe i had to pay!
after we left the River, she brought us to this Gold jewellery shop, we weren't interested at all but she forced us! we did not buy anything and in the in we told her we wanted to return to the hotel but she still insisted in bringing us to another handicraft shop... we had no choice but to follow her but we did not buy anything there either!! in the end she had no choice but to bring us back to the hotel! after washing up we headed to Platinum fashion mall.. since it was near our hotel and no Cabs wanted to bring us there we decided to walk! but as it was Songkran, we could not escape the water festival and we were the victims of their water pouring! but we were screaming and running! we even embarrassed ourselves... there was this girl who wanted to pour water on her fren but we tot she wanted to pour on us! so we ran as fast as we could! in the end steph's Bf laughed at us saying they weren't targetting us... oopz!! i took a snap shot of some of the "warriors" armed with water weapons!! can you see the wet floor?? this picture was taken from an overhead bridge... haha..
we walked and walked till we reaced the comfort of Platinum Fashion Mall... it has 1300 shops in one mall!!
we first had our lunch at the food court again... then we started our shopping war!! wow... the things there are super dirt cheap!! especially since there was a wholesale mall so the more u bought, the cheaper they got!! we bought many many many things there and we just could not get enough of the mall there... in the end when we left, there were still many more shops unexplored!! steph's bf was AMAZED at the amount of stuffs we got!! we had 7 ppl so it was rather easy to buy in wholesale quantites! especially since the minimum was onli 3! i can still rmb... i walked into the shop and then, when i saw smth i wanted, i went to find my frenz and in the end, there were 7 of us!! haha.... i could tell the people were shocked i brought so many others in.... at 7pm BKK time we left Platinum and went to Central for dinner... we ate at a restaurant... but the food was again cheap and had no service charge nor VAT! although we were extremely tired, we still went to the supermarket to get some food for supper!! we reali are pigs... eat eat eat...and we realized that we were spending money every single minute!! especially Kelly... hua hua hua, kelly zhui bang!! haha... den we went back to the hotel and after a hot bathe, i stuck on my HU BIAO ko yeo den i went to sleep..coz i.back ache... no choice but to stick... den got suan again coz tiger brand is manufactured in Singapore.... ah well... day 2 ended....
